Stop Taking Yourself So Seriously
You want to write? Write.
You want to start a podcast? Record.
You want to launch a Youtube? Film.
It’s honestly so easy to begin the huge venture that’s giving you stress. You’re keeping yourself up at night because you are carrying the same worries that come with finding the right job. You have to prepare yourself, develop perfect answers to random questions, and present yourself as the best candidate, rather than the best you.
This isn’t that.
Creating your own lane is about finding how to best curate your vision, your ideas, your personality, to best express yourself.
There is no interview. You are not going to be judged.
And I hate to say it (I hope I don’t sound ridiculous), but it’s scary. You don’t know that lane. And it will feel like you’re unqualified, but that’s only you.
As Elton once said to me, you are the only person saying you’re not good enough. There’s literally no one else campaigning for you to quit.
Nothing about this is life threatening, only life changing. If you find your own lane, you can potentially make a living being yourself. Obviously, that will drastically improve your lifestyle. But, this isn’t brain surgery, sis.
As much as I hope you launch that blog, no ones life is on the line, depending on your success.
In short, it is not that serious.
Try. Learn. Then, double the price.
You’re good. You’re worthy. You’re going to kill it!
All you have to do is start. Write the first blog. Record the first episode. Take the first photoshoot. Post the first piece of content.
And if you want to get really bold, film the whole process. Share your vulnerability, and express that fear, release it to others feeling the very same thing. Let them know that they’re not alone. You have the power to make others feel confident, and that’s a feat that should not be underestimated.
Take the feedback you receive from your first post, reinvest that energy, and double up. Post again, share more, and keep coming back to help more people.
That’s how you monetize your following. You help them.
Okay, I’m trying my best not to make my new blog about novel length articles. If you want to read my novels, click here.
If you’re here for the kick in the ass to get going, read more of that in my other articles of tough love. Click here if you’re brave enough for that.
Love you.
