I’ve been focusing on writing this year, partly by blogging more, because that’s an easy and quick route to share my thoughts. But also as a novelist. I’m working on a new romance novel, and have begun writing an outline. It’s a challenging process I love, because it brings my ideas out of my mind and kind of makes them real.
I have a process when building characters and storylines that leads to a detailed outline, with chapter summaries, allowing me to write with a clear direction. Once you have an outline, you have a book. You just have to flesh it out, but you know what happens.
That’s what’s fun. Being in control of this make believe world, you get to decide who the characters are and what they’ll do in your story.
I’ve done it dozens of times, so I enjoy it. But I find the women in my writing mentorship are a little intimidated by the process. Every month, we have link ups online where I am able to explain the stage of the writing process we’re in more clearly.
February is all about outline building. So, the link up shows you how to develop a story, along with tips and resources to help along the way.
For the first time, I’m opening the conversation up and allowing anyone to join, for free. If you’re interested in writing a book, you should join me this Friday February 11 at 8:00 PM EST to learn how to get started.
In the link up, I’ll explain how to build an outline, the necessary research, and show examples of what that looks like. There will be time to ask questions, and I just might share some resources.
You can register for the link up here. You’ll receive all the login details after registration. I hope you can join!
The on demand replay is only available to those enrolled in Write It, Sis! If you’re interested in joining my writing mentorship, you can learn more and apply here.
See you soon!
