I’m one of those people who doesn’t put too much stock in dates. If my birthday doesn’t go right, I’ll redo it the next day. If my life feels too chaotic, I’ll reset in August and relaunch my year.
That said, I started a Gratitude Challenge at the top of the year and welcome you to start it today. It’s simple, relatively cheap, and sure to improve your life.
All you need is a notebook and a little commitment. The premise is gratitude, an important component of my self-care that I wanted to improve. Typically, I would write in my gratitude journal once or twice a week, and maybe think of things I was grateful for during a meditation.
But, with this challenge, I’ve committed to writing down at least one thing that makes me smile every day. It could be something as simple as waking up excited about the day – or it could be closing a big deal in my professional life.
The point is to pay attention to the things that make you smile by writing them down, either as they happen or at the end of the day. The plan is to reflect on these highlights, throughout the year (especially when feeling down), and at the end of the year. It’s a highlight reel in the best kind of way.
So, that’s it. That’s the Gratitude Challenge. Every day, write down one thing that makes you smile. Easy enough, right?
So, are you in?
