We just hosted our second Pop-Up B&B, in our second country.
It still feels surreal.
If you’ve followed our story for a while, you know that one of our very first gigs abroad was working at a Bed and Breakfast in Italy for a month. It was owned by an expat couple who lived and worked together, hosting guests each summer in a small village outside of Tuscany. That experience changed everything for us.
We learned Italian recipes, cooked nightly dinners, and helped prepare the rooms for new guests each weekend. It was a glimpse into a completely different way of life, one we hadn’t known existed, and it became the spark for everything that followed.

Where It All Started
Our story began on October 1, 2013, a little over a year into our marriage. We boarded a one-way flight to Panama City, Panama with no real plan beyond curiosity. We came to call it our Indefinite Honeymoon, a promise to live boldly, explore endlessly, and design a life built on freedom, creativity, and connection.
That one-way ticket turned into six months across Central America, where we slowly made our way north, touching every country on the journey to Mexico. We fell in love with slow mornings, street food, and the rhythm of living lightly, everything we owned packed into two backpacks.

From there, our path led us to Italy, where we spent three months hosting at a Bed and Breakfast in a small village outside Tuscany. That little corner of the world showed us another way to live: slower, more intentional, and beautifully human.
I’ve always been the “hostess with the mostess.” I love welcoming people into spaces I love, sharing meals, laughter, and stories. But the idea of owning a Bed and Breakfast always felt too permanent. It meant choosing one location forever, and I’ve never been great at commitment.
So, I started to wonder — what if we didn’t have to choose just one place?
The Idea: Pop-Up B&Bs
What if we hosted Pop-Up Bed and Breakfasts, one month at a time, in cities we love?
Each pop-up could be a series of small, guided trips — four weeks of hosting, dining, exploring, and showing guests the magic of each destination through our eyes.
That’s how our Pop-Up B&B concept was born.

Morocco Was the First
We started in Marrakech, Morocco in 2024.
For five weeks, we hosted couples and women’s groups in the city we first fell in love with back in 2016. It was hard work, but good work. The kind that fills you up.
After Morocco, we immediately started asking ourselves, “Where next?”
The answer was obvious: Bali.
Bali is where we first started hosting back in 2019 — first a couples’ Baecation trip, then our very first women’s retreatin 2020. When the world shut down, so did the business. Everything came to a stop, and I remember wondering if it was even possible to keep going.
Then, the world reopened, and we hosted the Bali Breakthrough Retreat in September 2022. That trip changed me. It introduced me to a group of eleven women I will always hold dear to my heart. They believed in me, poured into me, and convinced me I could do this.
Those same women reunited for week one of the Manifest in Marrakech Pop-Up B&B in 2024 — bringing the journey full circle.

Then Came Bali
We’d lived in Bali for seven years, hosting retreats year after year, but we’d never done four consecutive weeks back-to-back.
This year, we finally did it.
Four weeks of guests in the village we once called home, surrounded by rice fields and the rhythm of Ubud. It was our second Pop-Up B&B, and the most meaningful one yet.
That chapter also closed another: our time living in Bali. After years of calling it home, we’ve now officially moved to Bangkok, Thailand, a huge step for us and a new beginning we’re deeply excited about.

A Full-Circle Moment
When I look back, it amazes me that we’ve managed to host two Pop-Up B&Bs in two countries, alongside our signature retreats in Morocco, Tokyo, and Thailand, often with little to no marketing.
I might send one email or post a few Instagram stories, and every trip still sells out.
We’ve built a travel family, a community of return guests who join us every year (some twice a year). It’s something I rarely pause to celebrate publicly, but today, I want to honor that.
I’m proud of what we’ve created, and even more excited about what’s next.
